Resistance to corrosion

The high contents of molybdenum, chromium, and nitrogen in this alloy secure excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion, while the ferritic-austenitic structure provides particularly good resistance to stress corrosion cracking in warm chloride conditions. These flanges will also provide good resistance to organic acids such as formic and acetic acids and inorganic acids, particularly those containing chlorides. Due to the low carbon content in Super Duplex 2507, carbide-related intergranular corrosion is practically impossible; hence, it only measures 0.020% carbon weight.
